Three quick updates

Thank you guys for your support. A lot of people reached out to me privately and I really appreciate it. What I've decided to do is leave the blog up and finish the initial plan to move all the write-ups here and update the reference pages, but I'm not adding new write-ups at this time.

There are amazing resources out there and I will continue to link to them and work to support our MSH RPG community. I'm still running online events and MSH games via Discord and Google Meet and will hopefully be able to restart my horror game as a 'live' game sometime in the near future.

September 2020 Updates

 Howdy Ho All!

Just a quick note about some updates to the site you may have noticed. First and foremost, every write-up that was lacking an image has an image. This was part of a four-staged revamp of the site:

1. All stats are being recopied from my older site, Classic Marvel Forever, and my records. I have noticed that several write-ups were initially posted here, and I've been working to correct this. (IN PROGRESS)

2. Write-ups have been reorganized into categories under 'Rules and Stats' sections. For instance, if you're looking for my Halloween Write-ups, they would be organized accordingly. If you're looking for my Dark Shadows write-ups, they have their own sections etc. I'm working to clean up and organize the write-ups according to groups and post a central page you can browse from for each section. Once this is completed, I'll be adding additional write-ups to those sections. Some write-ups will be in several sections - just a head's up, but it should ultimately make the write-ups, rules, etc to find. (IN PROGRESS)

3. The old method of browsing the write-ups was to use the tags at the bottom of the page. This was a clunky, awkward, and strange way to organize things, and I've begun to clean up the tags and list them in 'Cloud' format - the tags that are largest are the ones that have the most articles, etc. I apologize ahead of time with the previous formats and I'm working to add tags that should have been included as I go. (IN PROGRESS)

4. I'm working on the links, and if you have a MSH site you wanted listed or linked, send me a note here and I'll add it. I'm working to remake this blog long-term, and I've put in more work on it in the last two weeks than the last two years - It will get better and I don't plan to abandon it. (IN PROGRESS).

So, I anticipate the next month will see a lot of 'random' write-ups appearing and new sections. If you have suggestions or would like to see something specific, please let me know.

We're closing on Halloween!

Updates IV - August 2020

 Hey All

Just a quick update on what's happening. I'm in the process of finalizing the last image clean-up on the old write-ups, I've got maybe less than 15 left but I'm going over all the former posts and making sure the images are in place.

I'm working on three stages of updates to this site:

1. I'm working to ensure all write-ups are here and have good images.

2. I've been going over each write-up to correct spelling (I posted a number of them from 1st drafts - so now editing - sorry 'bout that), correcting and updating some write-ups based on newer information (Some will probably see completely new write-ups or I've looked at things and need to make changes), and updating the Labels - which is what I usually use to navigate the site.

3. Finally, new write-ups.  It's been a while since I did any new write-ups, but I have been trying to get back to build some new ones. I'm going to post a few more than I did last year for Halloween over at Classic Marvel Forever in October, but I'm also looking to do a few write-ups in a variety of different areas - I did the first real write-ups on Marvel: The Lost Generation and a few here and there -but I'm looking to do a few more on characters I've found interesting that don't get a lot of love or that I wanted to take a crack at. These write-ups include:

• Tarzan
• Moondragon
• The Darkhold and Cthon
• The Anti-Life Equation from DCeased
• Man-Bat
• Atari Force

And a few more I've written up but never posted. I had hoped last year would allow me to get back in to the habit, but I've been caught up with other things.

The Unofficial Marvel Project has been releasing tons of new netbooks, I'm always impressed with the people who work on the write-ups. This isn't bad for a game that last saw publication in 1994.

Finally, I wanted to take a moment and promote my own game, Defenders International, which is set in my own Metahero setting. I've been running the main campaign since 1986 - but I've run dozens of other groups in the setting. I' m running games right now online using Rolld20 and Discord, and I'm working to start a new campaign for anyone interested. More on that as we get further along - mainly I'm celebrating 35 years of running DI in January 2021 - So I'll be posting more here and on my FB group for DI.

Thanks for visiting! If you have a suggestion or have an idea for a write-up, drop a line!

Not Dead Yet

Didn't mean to drop off there, but it's been a hectic RL period, Covid-19 not withstanding. I certainly didn't mean to make the blog suffer.

I'm finally in a position I can resume posting and working on write-ups, rules, and other things. I'm also running online games based out of My Defendersverse universe!

A year ago I had planned to begin sorely translating my horror write-ups into a new book, and I'm working through that now. The first few are done, I've got a few hundred left :D

Thanks for visiting!

Remember, every day is Halloween!

Summer 2019 update

Hello all

It has been several months and a break before I could get back, but I'm looking to update my write-ups in the coming months, and I will be posting some Halloween write-ups here and on CMF. I'm only doing a few, I had decided last year would be my last year doing them...however....I've had a little inspiration and I'd like to finally post the 'Carmilla' MSH write-up five years in the making.

Thanks for checking out my MSH site.

April 2019 Update

Hey all;

Sorry for the delay. I was in the process of planning and running MSH for the last time at conventions - 30 years over the end of March and beginning of April. I'll be getting back to posting more updates and stats.

Any requests?

March 2019 Update

Howdy Hey!

Just a quick update. Still shifting through older write-ups that haven't made either Classic Marvel Forever or other sites. I'm working to verify the older write-ups and add new images where applicable.

For March, I'm still working on processing the 2018 Halloween Write-Ups, and there should be a few more coming in the next few days. I'm also working on the revised Halloween Write-Up guide, which I should have available here, at CMF, and on Facebook.

I'm running two new events at Ravencon 2019, which will also be the last convention I'm running at. After 30 years, it's time to step aside and let other people have a chance.

Thank you for your continued support and comments to this little blog and to a game that deserves more love!

Micro Update

Hey all;

I'm still working on getting all the tags corrected and any of the code fixed - This is an ongoing process which will take a bit longer - but once it is finished all of the write-ups will be labeled and corrected. I'm also looking once the remainder of Halloween 2018 is up to collect all of those write ups in a new PDF. I know, that's been a long-term goal, but I'm actually beginning see a point where it will happen.

Until then, hope you like the Halloween 2018 posts. I'm working on new write-ups (Albeit slowly) on the Umbrella Academy, but I don't have an ETA on those.

February Updates x2

Two updates this month? I'm on a roll.

I'm resuming posting Halloween 2018 updates and other write-ups, I'm trying for two every other day (or more if time permits).

I'm beginning an online Supers game set in my Defendersverse setting. I'll post things here once I get it settled.

Thanks for your continued support!

February 2019 update

Good Morning all;

I hope February doesn't find you too miserable and that gaming is good. I'm in the final stretches of reposting my Halloween updates and making solid progress on other updates and write-ups.

Marscon 2019 was a success, I ran seven events with a bunch of old familiar players and a surprisingly new number of players who had never played MSH and ended up playing a few times. Not bad for a game that has been out of print since 1996.

So, I'm hoping today to begin reposting my Halloween 2018 write-ups here, including the ones I didn't get out during October.

January 2019 update

Hello and sorry for the delay! Unfortunately, events happened which took me off of updates and such for about a month. I'm back and working to get more write-ups here.

I'm running events at Marscon 2019 with MSH FASERIP set in my long-time campaign universe the Defendersverse. It should be a lot of fun, and if you're in the Mid-Atlantic from Jan 18 - 20th, 2019...why not drop by Williamsburg VA and Marscon!

Halloween 2018 write-ups are incoming as well as a few write-ups from the James Bond Universe and an update to my 1980s write-ups. I'm hoping to have begun updates by the second week of the month.

Thanks for your patience and support!

November 2018 Update

Hello!

We're a week into November, and I'm a week late in posting this. Just a heads up for November 2018. I'm working to post the Halloween 2018 write-ups here I did for Classic Marvel Forever, I've one write-up left to post there, but scheduling and real life events derailed me from getting it posted.

I'm also reviewing old write-ups to ensure everything works and will begin posting some write-ups I've done prior to 2000 and have not posted online. In addition, I'm hoping to put together a 'horror write-up' book in PDF format with my write-ups out sometime in February 2019 - Free of course.

Thanks for visiting!

October Update

Hello!

Conversion of the old write-ups continues - You'll notice that the labels are growing and I'm working to ensure the images are both correct and that each write-up has them. I'm also about 60% through the write-ups I've done over at CMF and will have hopefully the rest up by the end of the month.

I've started the last write-ups for my Halloween series over at CMF - I'll bring them over after October. Until then, why not check out CMF now at Classic Marvel Forever.

Again, if you'd like to use these write-ups in your source books, just give me credit and a link if you don't mind! I'm always glad to help out and will post a link if you like to your MSH RPG items!

Additional updates.

Howdy from the pumpkin patch;

A few shorter updates. I'm going over the old posts here and updating them to try to begin the process of cleaning up the HTML issues and the older images that didn't port over. This means that the formats are still a little wonky, but I'm working on them as I publish other write-ups. Also part of this is getting the label system correct, which means I'm going to have to go through each write-up to ensure the labels are correct. Sorry for the mess!

Right now, I'm publishing as many write-ups as I have currently ahead of the Halloween write-ups on Classic Marvel Forever. I'm hoping to have the rest of my write-ups ported by the end of the month ahead of October, but it's a wait and see sort of situation.

Most of these write-ups have existed in one form or another on CMF, but there are going to be a few that have never been posted. I'm hoping you enjoy them!

August/September 2018 Updates

Hello and greetings from the Haunted House.

Just a note about the updates. I've got about 1/2 of the Halloween 2017 stats up, and I've got a number of the older write-ups updated with better labels and images. I had not realized how long it had been since the updates were done, and in some cases (I just updated Xena: Warrior Princess), I know I'd better plan an update before the end of the year with a new write-up entirely.

Over the next month I'm planning on finishing posting the Halloween 2017 updates and preparing the Halloween 2018 updates over at Classic Marvel Forever. I will be posting those write-ups here after Halloween is done. I'm also working to finish my first MSH book, revisiting my old Marvel: The Lost Generation write-ups, as well as my James Bond write-up book, but no ETA.

Currently, I have six projects for MSH on my plate:

• Halloween 2018. I'll at least put a list of what I'm covering here shortly.
• Updates to this site and the rest of the Halloween 2017 write-ups.
• The remainder of my old write-ups, including my updated Vigilante Rule (Something I wrote about twenty years ago when I was still Shad0hawke on AOL and Lady Arachne's site.
• The Marvel: Lost Generation Sourcebook
• The James Bond Definitive Sourcebook
• Most of my updates and write-ups from pre-2008.

I'm also looking to put  together a new version of my Halloween and Horror write-ups for PDF. I'll post it around once I'm done, but I'm going to go a little more traditional in format.

As always, if you'd like to use this write-ups in your own work or for your own books, awesome! I just ask you give credit as I try to do when I use a write-up for a base for someone else.

Thanks for stopping by, and remember, 51 days until Halloween.

Updating old posts and blog

Hello and welcome!

As I said yesterday, I'm updating posts and the blog itself. Please bear with me as I try some new(er) formats as well as updating some things with old write-ups. One of the things you probably noticed is that there is a real difference in write-up formats  from a decade+ to now, as well as broken images links and keyword index issues. I'm working to clean these problems up by the end of August, so that I can begin new updates, write-ups, and projects which will be featured here.

Thanks for you patience, and if you have suggestions, don't be a stranger!

Not Dead Yet.

Good Morning All;

Not dead yet. I'm converting several write-ups now, some should appear this afternoon and I'm going to continue to update through Halloween 2018. After that, I'm probably going to do a few write-ups I've wanted to do, and then we'll see.

Keep your eyes peeled here!
